Absolutely. Many GWG Press authors are first-time authors.
GWG Press publishes meaningful children’s books with heart, purpose, imagination, and big messages.
If your story falls outside of that scope, we still encourage you to reach out — we’d love to learn more about your idea and see if it may be a good fit!
Every project is different. Timelines vary depending on editing, illustration, revisions, design, and production needs.

It was incredibly important to me to work with like-minded people who truly believed in my story. During my initial meeting with Hailey, I knew our values clearly aligned. Her enthusiasm for the project touched me deeply. She guided me through the process and helped me face challenges I didn't know to expect. Hailey supported me every step of the way. GWG Press listened to my story, not just heard the words. When I first wrote my story, I thought it would be a picture book for a younger audience. After meeting with Hailey at GWG Press, discussed the idea of developing it as an early chapter book. That was really exciting for me.
